10,000 WORDS LATER

HOW TO KEEP ON PACE

Many you have read the 1,000 Word Blitz blog from Fresh1nk. I want to thank everyone who participated in this event, and I hope that you were able to get 10% of your work in progress finished.

As stated before, the purpose of this challenge was to inspire writers to write at least 1% of their WIPs each day. With this goal, each work could be completed in four months (if you take one day off a week). Four months is right on track with the market as authors are expected to produce between 3 and 6 books a year!

So thank you to everyone who participated, even if you chimed in later into the challenge. Let’s keep this up!

Just to let you know, I was having trouble getting a kickstart with my 3rd book in a trilogy, so I issued this challenge to get a writing jolt.

After ten days, I have increased my word count from 5,278 to 23,000. I’m so excited because I feel like I’ve finally got the ball rolling. I hope to stay on pace with at least 1,000 words a day. That said, I still have to find sometime today to write.

Let me know how many words you completed. I’d love to hear about those of you who engaged in this challenge with me.
